Chris Dolman and Paul Williams' current collaborative practice predominantly engages ceramics. By exploring the space between fact and fiction, past and present, they memorialise objects from shared memories and invent fictional realities of the future.
For Pipe Down, the artists have recreated objects from their celebrity namesakes lives;Dutch wrestler Chris Dolman, and American composer Paul Williams. Blending intimacy with the absurd and engaging painting, ceramics and readymade objects, Pipe Down probes into the history of nontraditional self portraiture by celebrating their namesakes successes for lack of their own.
