Claire Finneran is a multidisciplinary artist from Lismore who lives and works in Sydney. Working with video, installation, sculpture, sound, performance and painting she has had solo exhibitions and been part of several collaborative projects. In 2014, Claire exhibited collaborative works with Alex Kiers including a show 'Comfort Zone' at Firstdraft Gallery and 'Miami' at the Walls on the Gold Coast, she performed 'ASMRnB' at the Museum of Contemporary Art and had a solo exhibition 'So Far, So Chilled' at Sydney Guild. Other major exhibitions include collaborations with Hossein Ghaemi 'This Way Up' in 2013 and 'Way Out' as part of Next Wave festival in Melbourne in 2012.

'RnRnRnB' is an installation that aims to depict the evolution of relaxation and the customisation of culture and spiritual ideals. The ways in which we relax and the typical spaces we use to do so, such as, spas, massage parlours, resorts etc. has remained relatively unchanged a formulaic checklist of symbols and activities. 'RnRnRnB' aims to project a future of being chilled and blissed in a society that customises every last inch of their lives. Taking cues from the psychological effects of the natural landscape and it's artificial replication in calming spaces, online communities associated with ASMR and the adoption of New Age signposts and musical emblems in RnB this work aims to show a potential reworking of how we can experience relaxation. Organic feelings of peace and tranquility can be conjured through synthetic means, catered to individual tastes and consumed with fluctuating degrees of physical engagement.
