SWAMP/WITHERN are the corresponding titles for the London Metropolitan Police's operations after the Brixton Riots of 1981 (Operation Swamp) and the recent London/Tottenham Riots of 2011 (Operation Withern). In SWAMP/WITHERN, these key moments of the cultural present and historical are merged from the viewpoint of a generation who has only experienced these times through recorded media but both incidents are reflective of a social entropic force that is collapse or suspend time.

Logan Macdonald is an emerging artist/curator from Adelaide; he completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts (Honours) in 2007 at the South Australian School of Art, UniSA. He has exhibited at the Australian Experimental Art Foundation's odradekaeaf, INFLIGHT (Hobart, Tasmania), Nexus Multicultural Arts Centre and FELTspace; as well as Seventh Gallery and Next Wave Festival in Melbourne. He has curated various other projects including exhibitions such as the Helpmann Graduate Exhibition as well as projects at Nexus, FELTspace and Format Festival and was selected to participate in the Australia Council for the Arts' Geek in Residence (2010 and 2011)
