UV Sandwich explores the emotional changes within us in response to objects whose scale, materiality, or shape has been altered. Simultaneously, it will explore the potential that shape is the most decisive characteristic when identifying objects as well as how these changes convert the shape from a mundane object to an object of higher aesthetic value.

These changes can also introduce the concept of “play” into an object whose purpose is originally purely utilitarian and vice versa. To trigger these changes in appreciation and emotional response: scale can be increased, decreased and warped, and materiality can be altered, obscured and combined.

Having an unconventional training (from fine art to fashion, shoe making, dental technology and competitive bodybuilding) has led to the development of a hyper-contemporary aesthetic (largely informed by digital image manipulation and online ). As such, this exhibition will consist of two-dimensional works using computer-generated imagery and sculptures informed by a conceptual approach to materiality.
